Sr. Construction Manager

  Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Product Group (CPG) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Western Region CPG Engineering team located in Camas, Washington.  The CPG Engineering team consists of nearly 200 individuals across the United States working with our 15 Tissue Towel and Napkin mills and our 8 Dixie facilities on capital project execution as well as run-ability of current assets.  We are engineers, project managers and designers focused on a quality delivery.  We partner with our mills as one team, one vision, one result.  Upcoming work includes installation of material handling automation equipment. A Day in The Life Typically Includes:   Providing site construction leadership for capital projects at GP's Consumer Products Business location Working with project teams to determine cost effective construction strategies for specific large capital projects; by coordinating with the Mills, Businesses, Engineering, Sourcing, and Legal teams Supporting project development phases with construction scope, cost, schedule, and resourcing input Teaming with Project Managers to lead constructability reviews for large capital projects during pre-funding phases Supporting the development of metrics for the construction phase on capital projects, and team with project managers to lead the construction planning process and construction progress reporting Leading development and coordination of detailed project constructionschedules, and support planning and scheduling for the checkout and commissioning phase Acting as the primary on-site interface with constructioncontractors on safety, schedule, cost, change management, and quality/precision installation performance.  Construction safety leadership, code and environmental compliance, and ensuring contractor adherence to reliability specifications are particularly important aspects of this role    Appling economic thinking to evaluate alternatives, and work with project teams on value improving processes for construction activities Possessing strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills Working effectively both independently and in a team environment Demonstrating effective written and verbal communication skills Handling multiple tasks simultaneously and organize multiple priorities with a sense of urgency. Possessing strong computer skills in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Project, including critical path schedule management Obtaining meaningful feedback from customers Demonstrating a high level of customer focus and continually seeking innovative ways to improve project execution What You Will Need:  Basic Qualifications:   Bachelor's Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering or closely related degree Seven (7) or more years of construction management experience in heavy industrial environment Willing and able to work up to 12 days of 12-hour shifts continuously during critical project execution periods, including nights and weekends when required Willing and able to travel anywhere from 50% to 100% of the time as business needs require to include temporarily residing near project sites for extended time periods, and primarily work on-site at a variety of GP manufacturing locations   What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications:   Three (3) or more years of construction management experience in paper mill related projects Ten (10) or more years construction management experience in heavy industrial projects Experience in reviewing and coordinating 3D design models for construction work Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software Certification in Construction Management (CCM) or Project Management (PMP)   Want to learn more about Georgia-Pacific? The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
