Essential Functions - Major Responsibilities
Work on the implementation of API for the outdoor monitoring device/platform.
Design and develop a database and persistence layer on the device/platform.
Design and develop an authentication and account management system for the monitoring device/platform
Some domestic and international travel may be required. Must be able to work extended hours. Must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time. Must have command of English language adequate to communicate technical information
Must Have Skills/Knowledge Requirements
Experience with Object Oriented programming in Python and C++
Experience with implementing REST style web
services
/API using Python or C+
(backend or mid-tier).
Extensive experience with relational database design and query optimization
Experience using one of the following databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
Solid knowledge of client database access, schema design, SQL, and Stored Procedures.
Experience with Linux in an embedded environment
Desired Skills and Knowledge
Experience working with GPS devices and mapping technologies.
Experience working with map data
Experience working with Google Maps SDK or Bing Maps SDK
Experience with using OpenSSL and secure coding practices
Familiarity with (No-SQL) big-data storage concepts and technologies
Experience designing and building multithreaded and asynchronous systems.
Experience working with Http streaming protocols.
Experience with Websockets
Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for solving difficult technical challenges
Strong coding and debugging skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
